Quartz is a manufactured stone made from crushed quartz, pigment and resin.  It is non-porous, extremely durable and requires little to no maintenance.  In most cases, a little soap and water or a touch of mild detergent with a clean cloth is all that is required to maintain its beautiful lustre.  It doesn’t need to be sealed, as a natural stone would.  We have a vast selection of Quartz which includes: Cambria, Silestone, Hanstone, Caesarstone, LG and GS. Quartz is very scratch resistant, but we would recommend you use cutting boards. Your knives will also thank you. As far as Heat goes, we recommend you always use a heat pad or trivet for warm & hot items.

Granite are slabs of natural stone.  Each slab is unique and beautiful.  We strongly recommend choosing the exact slab you would like to make sure you find the characteristics you are looking for.  Daily maintenance of granite is easily achieved with warm water and a small amount of dish soap to clean up most spills.  Do not use abrasive cleansers.  Granite is very scratch resistant; But as is with Quartz, we recommend you use cutting boards.  As well it is heat resistant, we recommend you always use a heat pad or trivet.  Prior to installation the granite is sealed with an “Impregnator Sealer”.  Resealing is typically required once or twice a year, more often for high use areas.  The sealing process does not take long.  You can find stone resealing products at most home building supply stores.  Most applications are simply wipe on and buff with a clean cloth.  Always follow the product label directions.

Corian is a solid surface product made by Dupont.  It is non-porous, durable and can be thermoformed.  It is manufactured in compliance with strict standards in order to limit waste and energy use.  One of the great characteristics of Corian is the easy maintenance.  If you get any scratch or scuff marks in the countertop, they can easily be buffed out with a scouring pad.  Use chopping/cutting board with this product.  Also, always use a heat protection pad, trivet (with rubber feet) or protective sink mat for hot cookware. Integrated sinks and backsplashes are also a great option with Corian.
